An online portal for parents looking to find services that helps them with their children and household needs, such as tutoring, childcare, cleaning services and other ‘family agent’ type services.
The Requirements
The Problem
As our client was a professional within the childcare sector herself, she was fully aware of the distinct lack of websites that offered a comprehensive service that made it easy for parents and service providers (such as nannies, au pairs, kids clubs, house keepers and so on) to connect. The only existing options were agencies that charge a fortune or the need to trawl through council websites to find these services.
The website also needed to contain profiles that made it easy for registered parents or customers to check the service provider has the appropriate qualifications / skill sets / registrations and any references they might have.
We were chosen as the development partner for Family Noticeboard as we had the experience in building similar non-standard/complex projects of this nature.
The Solution
The first stage was to write a full project specification that detailed all the client’s requirements, with a focus on documenting all the functionality and features that makes the website unique.
From here we created a distinctive brand identity including logo and then designed and built a modern, clean website that was easy to use on all devices including tablets and mobiles for busy mums, dads and childcare professionals to be able to quickly search for the services they needed.
For service providers wanting to join the website, we made sure that the sign-up, payment and profile creation process was as quick and easy as possible and allowed for fast and easy uploading of all their relevant documentation including profile photo, qualifications, references, registrations and more.
To help support the running cost of the website we also integrated a subtle banner advertising system, and there are future plans to further expand the website and offer even more to parents and service providers.
