Arments Pie & Mash
About Arments Pie & Mash
Londons oldest and best pie and mash company serving the best London pie and mash, Arments Pie & Eel house is still trading in Walworth and has been for over 100 years, being owned and run by third generation Arments Roy and Cheryl.
The Requirements
The Problem
Having worked with Arments for over 5 years to drastically improve their online presence by way of Social Media management and Google Search Engine Optimisation, Arments came to us and asked if we could redevelop their existing website to improve the user experience, online ordering processes and to make the website more engaging overall for their customers.
Due to the nature of the pie house and that pies are made fresh and baked on certain days of the week, there were issues with the existing website whereby incorrect delivery days were given, and delivery charges were incorrect, amongst other things.
Finally, Arments also wanted the ordering system to be infinitely easier to use and more intuitive for customers when they were deciding what they wanted to order from the online pie shop.
The Solution
The first stage was to write a full project specification that detailed all the specific technical and custom requirements, taking into account the functionality and features that were required for the online shop and ordering system on both the customer and client side.
The next step was the creative phase of the project where we produced an inviting and engaging design for the new Arments website, capturing the essence of Arments and their provenance. It was important to carefully balance the website between beautiful design and user experience, whilst ensuring that the technical functionality of the website worked perfectly in all areas too; especially the online ordering section.
Arments were thrilled with the new website, and both Arments customers and staff have expressed how much they love the new design and how easy the website is to use.
Alongside the website, we manage all their digital marketing, and had done for around 5 years prior to building the new website. We continue to manage their Social Media and Search Engine Optimisation and since we started we have extensively improved their online visibility and in turn this has increased their monthly online sales and turnover for their ‘postal pies’ service by well over double month-on-month in comparison to where they were before we started.
We developed a Social Media strategy that included Twitter and Facebook, focusing the campaign on increasing outreach and building their followers. We have increased both customer footfall in their shop and online ordering via their website, with website sales increasing on average 20% each quarter and their shop generating an additional 30% footfall each year.
